Charles F. Wassenberg (1875 - 1954), President of the APS 1936-38
[From "The Peonies", by Myron Bigger, 1962, p.38:] "Mr. Wassenberg, a drygoods merchant, established a large flower nursery for peonies, iris, heremocallis, etc. He was for twenty-six years a Director of the American Peony Society, Vice President in 1934-1936, President 1936-1938. He published one of the most complete peony catalogs and the nursery is still run under the name of Wassenberg Gardens."
