Is William Shakespeare 2000 a thorny bush?. Mine has got scattered and barely foliage too. What do you think about it?. I have some doubts about the identity of this rose. Thank you for your help.

W.S. 2000 color is purple in hot temp., then turns dark-red in cold weather. His petals are tightly packed, rather than loose. Your picture looks like L.D. Braithwaite, very pretty! William Shakespeare is hardy in my zone 5a and 100% healthy. The scent is Violet old rose in my alkaline soil. As own root he's wimpy the 1st year, only a few blooms. The second year is great, compact like a mini-rose (1' x 1'), blooms lots in partial shade, 4 hours of morning sun.
