'Cuthbert Grant' rose Reviews & Comments

I purchased my Cuthbert as a body bag rose from our local Wal-Mart and for the first year, he was predictably small and spindly. The second year he produced a spectacular spring flush (but did not bloom further) and grew very well, more than doubling in size, although his canes were so flimsy that he required a peony basket to keep him off the ground. Unfortunately, he did develop BS in my garden and required spraying to stay clean. This was its third year and the blooming was definitely more prolific, if less spectacular than in 2006. His canes had also strengthened in the meantime and he no longer required support for his blooms. I did end up removing this rose during a renovation of this bed, but it was a pleasing rose at the end. Hopefully he's blooming well for his new owner.
