The Rose Garden of Tralee, located in the Town Park off Denny Street, was developed in 1986 and contains around 6000 roses over a three acre site. At the entrance a life size bronze sculpture by Jeanne Rynhart (1946 - 2020) depicts poet/composer William Pembroke Malchinoch and his sweetheart, Mary O’Connor, the original Rose of Tralee. A series of glass panels behind the sculpture record the details of the garden and honours the award winners from the annual Rose of Tralee International Festival. The Tralee Garden Festival is also held each year in the park.
