2015 Australian Rose Annual p142. Hayden Foulds, Gardens of New Zealand. Heading south in the town of Levin, between Wellington and Palmerston North is the Nola Simpson Rose Garden. This garden was named for Mrs. Nola Simpson, a prominent Palmerston North rosarian who spent her early years in the Levin Area. Maintained by members of the local Horowhenua Rose Society, the gardens were renovated in 2008 after it was proposed to remove them altogether. The historic Levin Court House now a coffee shop was moved on site. The garden contains modern rose cultivars including a good number grown on standards.
