Almost all my roses are Madames. many of them Bournons - some Duchesses, some Ladies, one or two Vicomtesses, some plain Mrs or Madame etc - plus the ywo beautiful commoners Ethel, and Village Maid! Most were bred in 19th century, a few newer 'old roses' are included, almost all before 1920. It makes for a wonderfully feminine show in mid-late June - all pinks, whites, purples and soft yellows. The main rose garden - 11 arches each with 4 - 8 roses each - is guarded at the entrance by a Rambling Rector. We are quite high (over 600 ft) so we are always a little later than other rose gardens. It's a private garden but I'd welcome any rose enthusiasts who wouldn't be too critical!
