In mid-late March, my struggling lilac bush had 4 blossoms. The was taken the week of Easter, 2008 in SOuthern Nevada. My bush does well in the Spring. Then it dries up and, I think, goes dormant in the hot summer. In the Fall it puts out leaves again, sometimes with bits of flower, and then drops leaves in late Fall or early winter. It starts to grow in February, and flowers in March. There may not be many blossoms, but the smell like heaven to someone from New York!
