Fig. 39 depicts a cross-section of a bloom of Gustave Regis showing the calyx, stamens and pistil, fig. 40 an enlarged, fertilised, but empty calyx, Fig.41 the flower after the removal of all the petals; the stamens and pistil are particularly well exposed.
