Taken June 2, 2009, 3rd year. Zone 5a, Eastern Iowa. Shade tolerant, gets very little sun on east side of house blocked by a large tree across the street and my birch tree clump blocking exposure from the south. The sun only comes through early in the morning and around noon.. It would have been doing better for me if I'd fed it more regularly and given it winter protection. Own root rose. Nice for small spots with other shade loving plants. I'm enchanted with it now.
