'Sultry Night ™' rose Description

Bloom:
Fuchsia / magenta, lighter reverse. Moderate, citrus fragrance. 53 to 104 petals. Average diameter 3". Medium, very full (41+ petals), cluster-flowered, cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Pointed, ovoid buds.
Habit:
Medium, bushy, rounded. Semi-glossy, dark green, leathery foliage. 5 leaflets.
Height: 2' to 4' (60 to 120cm). Width: 3' to 4' (90 to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9a. Disease susceptibility: mildew resistant, rust resistant.

his invention relates to a new and distinct variety of Shrub Rose. It has as its seed parent the variety known as ‘MORchari’ (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 5,975) and a non-disseminated seedling of my creation as its pollen parent with the following genetic origin Wild Blue Yonder x [(Purple Heart x seedling) x Stephens' Big Purple (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,262, ‘Stebigpu’)]..... The branches used for the photograph came from 3- to 4-year-old rose plants of the new variety grown outdoors in Wasco, Calif. in the month of November.
