Origin:
Bred by Pierre Rousseau (France, before 1837).
Introduced in Australia by Thomas Lang in 1873 as 'Acidalie'.
Class:
Bourbon.  
Bloom:
White, light pink shading, lighter outer petals.  Pink edges when aging.  Mild to strong, sweet fragrance.  Average diameter 2.75".  Medium to large, very double, borne mostly solitary, cupped, reflexed bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Rounded.  Medium, glossy, dark green foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 10b.  Very vigorous.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.  Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..

A copy of the rose from the National Plant Collection of Victor Lewis, Braintree, Essex, was planted in Sangerhausen after 2011.
