Origin:
Bred by Dr. Dzidra Alfredovna Rieksta (Latvia, 1979).
Introduced in Germany by Rosen Jensen-Lützow GmbH in 1988 as 'Sachalin'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Light pink, darker center.  Lilac-pink.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), in large clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, compact, well-branched.  Large, dark green, wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  

Height: 6'7" to 8'2" (200 to 250cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4a through 5b.

Ashdown Roses says Schaelin has coral-pink flowers that are loose and semi-double and it repeats continuously...
