Bloom:
Carmine-pink. None to mild, sweet-pea fragrance. 36 petals. Average diameter 2.25". Medium to large, semi-double to double, cluster-flowered, cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Climbing, few or no prickles/thorns, upright. Dark green foliage.
Height: 6' to 10' (185 to 305cm). Width: 4' (120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b through 9b. Very vigorous.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Vintage Gardens classifies this rose as a tea-noisette. 'Belle Marseillaise' is possibly not a synonym of 'Fellemberg', but a distinct yet similar cultivar. The attribution to Fellemberg as breeder is probably equally incorrect. see References.
Dedicated to Philipp Emanuel von Fellenberg (June 15, 1771 Bern - November 21, 1844 Hofwil), renowned Swiss agronomist and educationalist, who established a model farm at Hofwil near Bern in 1799 to educate poor children, young farmers, teachers and sons of aristocrats. He did not breed the 'Fellemberg' rose as assumed in some early literature, however, improved "Fellemberg" wheat, prunes, pears are mentioned in literature.
