Bred by Noisette Farms (United States, before 1902).
Introduced in United States by Griffing's Semi-tropic Nurseries in circa 1902 as 'Minnie Francis'.

Tea.  

Carmine-pink, crimson shading.  Strong fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Upright.  

Height: 4' to 6'7" (120 to 200cm).  

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  

This is a Tea, not a Noisette. The confusion probably stems from its origins; it was bred at the Noisette Farm Nurseries in Charleston, SC. The nursery was run by the descendants of Phillipe Noisette who settled in Charleston in the 1790's. It was introduced by the Griffing Brothers, who had nurseries in Florida and Texas. It isn't clear which nursery location had it first.

The color of the blooms is described as "chamois red". Another Tea thus described is 'Charles de Legrady', which see.
