Bred by Giuseppe Manetti (Italy, before 1835).
Introduced in United States by High Country Roses as '"Mae Fair Pink"'.
Introduced in Australia by Tasmania Botanical Gardens in 1859 as 'Manetti'.

Found Rose, Hybrid Noisette, Noisette, Shrub, Understock.  
Bloom:
Light pink.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, few or no prickles/thorns.  Blue-green foliage.  

Height: 6' to 5' (185 to 150cm).  Width: 4' (120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for understock.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
Introduced in United Kingdom by Thomas Rivers & Son Ltd around 1835. Vibiand-Morel claims in 1915 that 'Manetti' is a seedling of 'Rosier de l'Ile Bourbon', bred by Bertin.

The Peter Beales Collection of Classic Roses 2000-2001 says this rose was commonly used as an understock in the 19th century, especially in the U.S.A.

["Mae Fair Pink", is another of the fantastic roses found in Denver's Fairmount Cemetary. Mae Fair, who passed away in 1904 at the age of 24, is a truly appropriate namesake for this lovely rose.
