Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, 1959).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1961 as 'Heidelberg'.
Introduced in France by Vilmorin-Andrieux in 1963 as 'Heidelberg'.

Floribunda, Cl..  

Crimson, rose-red reverse.  Carthamus-red.  Mild fragrance.  32 petals.  Average diameter 4".  Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Bushy, climbing.  Glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: 6' to 8' (185 to 245cm).  Width: up to 5' (up to 150cm).

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower, garden or pillar.  Very vigorous.  can be grown as a shrub.  Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .  Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).
