The new plant is the result of a single seedling selection from a cross between an unnamed, proprietary selection of a Clematis fremontii x Clematis integrifolia cross (not patented) as the female parent times `Ashva` (not patented). The cross was performed on Jun. 16, 2014 by the inventor at a wholesale perennial nursery in Zeeland, Mich., USA.
