Discovered by Hans Stolwijk (Netherlands, 2001).

Atragene Group, Group 1.  
Bloom:
Violet, ages to purple .  Golden-yellow foliage.  4 to 8 petals.  Average diameter 2.25".  Small to medium bloom form.  Early spring to late summer.  
Habit:

Height: 39" to 4'11" (100 to 150cm).

The new Clematis is a naturally-occurring whole plant mutation of an unnamed selection of Clematis alpina, not patented. The new Clematis was discovered and selected by the Inventor as a single plant in a population of plants of the parent selection in a controlled environment in Boskoop, The Netherlands in May, 2001.
