Origin:
Discovered by Unknown (before 1903).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Daisy Hill Nursery in 1903 as 'Recta Purpurea'.
Class:
Group 3, Herbaceous Group, Late, Small-flowered.  
Bloom:
White.  Purple foliage.  Strong fragrance.  4 petals.  Average diameter 1.25".  Single, curved tip, star-shaped bloom form.  
Habit:

Height: 3' to 6' (90 to 185cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 3b through 9b.  Best in a sunny location.  In early spring, cut back to just above the lowest set of healthy buds.
