Origin:
Bred by Walter Pennell (United Kingdom, 1962).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Pennell & Sons Nursery in 1973 as 'Scartho Gem'.
Class:
Early Large Flowered.  
Bloom:
Pink, deep pink center.  6 to 8 petals.  Average diameter 8".  Single, scalloped edge bloom form.  Late spring to early summer, late summer.  
Habit:

Height: 6' to 8' (185 to 245cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  Suitable for growing in a container.  It blooms on the previous year's growth, so resist the urge to prune it in early spring.
