Origin:
Bred by Raymond J. Evison (United Kingdom, before 1993).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Guernsey Clematis Nursery in 1993 as 'Masquerade'.
Class:
Early Large Flowered, Group 2.  
Bloom:
Mauve, pink stripes.  6 to 8 petals.  Average diameter 7".  Single, ruffled edge bloom form.  Late spring to early summer, late summer to early autumn.  
Habit:

Height: 6' to 8' (185 to 245cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  Suitable for growing in a container.  It blooms on the previous year's growth, so resist the urge to prune it in early spring.
